Hot Pink Gnomes Are In.

Spring has arrived in Texas! Now, for my friends who are still dealing with snow I give you permission to flaunt your Fall weather when it arrives. Sadly, were I live Fall skips us entirely. For now we are enjoying the Spring like weather before the heat and humidity hit us soon.

The itch to garden has hit me now that we purchased our own home. I planted a little in our rental home, but never created any type of garden before. Bring on the big bags of soil and tiny little plants!

Originally, I was going to create a very adult and calm yard. A type of Chip and Joanne Gaines themed yard. Well, once I pulled out the hot pink gnome I soon realized that wasn’t going to happen. What I have decided to do instead is to create a colorful and fun backyard. Lots of bright colors and some gnomes mixed in.

Being my first year here, the garden will not be as expansive. I also can’t promise my flowers will survive, but I will give it a good try. I am now dusting off the old gnomes, pulling weeds, and searching high and low for the perfect flower pots.

I’ll keep you posted.

  1. I live in Southern California and winter has apparently decided to skip us this year. I’ve been thinking of doing some planting since January since it was in the 70s and 80s, but my thumb is anything but green. I hope all goes well for you and your colorful garden!
