Play Dough in the Carpet.

I had allowed my daughter to play with play dough on the kitchen tile which is located near the living room carpet.

You know what happened next.

Katie had a ton of fun shredding, mixing, and squishing the dough. She is still trying to figure out how to roll out the dough and use the cookie cutters. Unfortunately, she stepped in some causing most of it to mush into the carpet.

Not her fault, I simply got out our stain remover machine and was able to clean it up. It did remind how some Moms feel about allowing their children to play with paints, play dough, or markers. I completely understand how they feel. It can be a lot of work to cleaned it up. Not to mention giving a two year old paint is just asking for a mess!

However, I really urge Moms to allow this type of play. I know it can be a hassle and it doesn’t have to happen every day. Allowing your child to get a little messy allows them to be creative.

Note to self: It may also help to move the play dough further away from the carpet.
